Well things started clearing up around here was able to get out an get some shots today, looks like tomorrow will be clear also.


Description:

7" (17 cm). Bright blue above and on wings and tail; rusty throat and breast; white belly and undertail coverts. Female similar, but duller.

Habitat :

Open woodlands and farmlands with scattered trees.

Nesting :

4-6 pale blue eggs in a loose cup of grasses and plant stems in natural tree cavities, old woodpecker holes, fence posts, and bird boxes.

Range :

Breeds east of Rockies from southeastern Canada to Gulf of Mexico; also in mountains of southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. Winters in southern part of breeding range. Also in Mexico.

Beautiful details and colors, Gregory. Too bad there is the shadow of a twig falling across the body. Still a great shot. TFS. : )

Flawless composition and framing on this little beauty. The light was soft and beautiful here. The colors are superb, and detail is very sharp. Yor control on the DOF is perfect with that nice OOF backround to really make him stand out. Great work!

Your focus is ever so slightly out. At ISO 200 and F8 I think it would have helped. Nicely done though.
