[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am not sure if this is a young male that has not yet achieved its bright red coloring (since it has the male crest prominently displayed) or a female, which are usually duller, but not, I think, with the crest. Any bird experts want to decide?

An outstanding shot! This looks to be spot on with the exposure. Great colors throughout the entire tonal range. Detail is very sharp. I love the scene. I am wanting a shot like this to do my own Christmas cards next year. Great shot!

Beautiful shot, Alan. Very sharp details on this cardinal. The colors are so soft. I like him very much. TFS. : )

Looks like a female to me. They do have a crest as well, usually raised when they are alarmed or agitated I believe. An excellent capture with great detail.
