Youghiogheny River 2
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A view of the falls at the Youghiogheny River at the Ohiopyle State Park. As Evelynn pointed out in her comment to the earlier posting ( Youghiogheny River ), the flat rocks and water remind one of the structure of the famous "Falling Water" house a few miles from here.
Shot with a 0.6 graduated neutral density filter UPSIDE DOWN to cut the very bright white light off the water in the very contrasty, low winter sunlight, which made the trees appear almost completely shadowed. ISO 200, NEF |

Hi Alan, a lovely view of the river, good composition and colours too. How tall is the falls - about 6 feet or more? The water movement shows up very well. Good job, TFS

That's another nice river shot. I use a grad. neutral density filter a lot...in all directions. It really helps. I must admit I've never heard of that river and am at a loss as to how to pronounce it!
Do you find that Nikon's minimum ISO setting of 200 a problem? It seems high for landscape photography which is what I mostly do. I'm trying to decide between Nikon and Canon. (Canon 350D Dig. Rebel XT has 100 as minimum ISO)
Hi Alan,
Great photo af a beautiful river. SOmeting I don't see that often in my country. (all pieces of land are cultivated. I do feel that this photo is a bit too bright.
TFS,
Niek
