[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I came upon this tree and saw quite a few monster bird nests. With a little research, I found that this tree is a local favorite for nesting blue herons. I didn't have the reach to get great detail on one specific nest, but I thought the whole tree full of nests provided a neat affect.

Hi Erik
Since this is a nature site I should actually critique you on two different aspects in your photo. Both are related to nature and you have done well on both counts.
Firstly, it is a brilliant sunset with very nice colours and you have divided the photo very nicely into the different 1/3 levels.
Secondly, the tree seems to be very significant as far as blue heron nesting is concerned. For that reason it is a pity you could not show closer details, but I realised that would have destroyed your sunset image.
However, good work done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Erik,

I have a lakes close by with really big Eucalyptus trees on the banks .. there is colony of Herons they nest in the trees, quite a site, I appreciate how difficult it is to get a decent photo of them ...
