[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I know today is April Fool's Day, but is nature playing a joke on us?
I was at Lake Merritt taking pictures of the migrating water fowl when this duck with the fetching hairpiece swam in front of me.

He was with his lady friend, of similar coloring, but without the wig.
They were keeping apart from the large groups of scaups and mallards.

Is there such a species, or is this an aberration?
Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Manyee, what have you here??? Nature's April Fool joke for us. Was he mixing in with other ducks and being accepted by them.
Very good capture, nice and sharp, and a really good find!

Un étrange canard en effet. Cett crinière est sûrement une aberration comme vous le souligné dans votre note. Une coquetterie de la Nature.
Merci ManYee.
