[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another long story- After shooting the Owl for about 3 hours, I set the camera mounted on the tripod in the corner- and started working on some of the RAW shots I had taken, around 250. As I walked by the still open window, I picked up the binoculars, they made my arms ache, so I got a chair, sat down, and started relaxing before lifting the binocs to see the Owl. Just as I was starting to look, I saw movement on the tree to the left of the Owl- a young Squirrel was making his way up toward the Owl. I hurriedly, slow for most people, laid the glasses down, grabbed the camera off the tripod, checked some settings, took the lens cap off, sat down. I only got 3 shots, the little tree rodent wasn't waiting for any photographer. This is the most focused of the 3, another one had him a little closer, but it isn't good enough to post. He checked the Owl out, didn't see anything to worry about, and went on his merry way. You can see the Owl's concern- none.
If I had the opportunity to take the shot over, I would use manual setting, shutter to 1/640, f13-16. But if I would practice better shooting control, stabilization wouldn't be so bothersome. Oh well, it's done now. I used Philip Erche's suggestion from the other Owl shot- more contrast, plus more post processing.
I just hope it conveys what I was seeing, amazing Nature at it's best! (The squirrel could be in better focus also).
Hope you enjoy it,
JJ

Si me había agradado la imagen anterior de la lechuza, esta con el aditamento de la ardilla en la misma escena es maravillosa.
Excelente captura... con la misma calidad que la anterior.

If I had pleased to me the previous image of owl, this with the addition of the squirrel in the same scene is wonderful.
Excellent capture... with the same quality that the previous one.

The owl does seem to be doing its best tree stump impression, inspite of the sqirrel doing his best to interfer. good capture JJ, I like the idea of setting the camera up and getting what comes to investigate.

Brilliant! The squirrel seems to be thinking "who the heck are you?" while the owl doesn't cares at all. Amazing how nature is :)

Beutiful colours!

This is spmething that is not often seen! Excellent moment that has been well captured.

Very well done and thanks for posting.

That's a very rare capture, very well caught.
Well done.

Wow, two animals in the one shot, in the wild. Great stuff. The composition is great, the focus is fine. This is one of those moments you can't plan, thanks for sharing.

Hi JJ. I think this is a very nice shot. Almost as thought the hunter has become the prey. I think the humour really helps this shot. Technically its well composed although I may have been tempted to get a little tighter on the animals. Take care, Don.

Comment as-tu fait pour prendre cette magnifique photo? Excellent! On dirait que l'écureuil s'est approché lentement pour épier le petit hibou...
Bravo
Claude
