Sunrise near Mount Peale in Utah. This was taken right before we went to climb Mount Peale in September of 2005. Very quite and peaceful place. I would love to have some honest feedback as well as some suggestions on how I can improve and sharpen this picture after the fact. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Dan,

Welcome to TN. I like seeing more landscape photograpers here! I think this is a really nice photo. I like the early morning light. Do you use a photo editing program, like Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements? If this is the way the photo came from your camera...it is great! Doesn't look like it needs more enhancement to me. I'm sure someone here on TN will let you know. There are some good critiquers here!

Hello Dan,

Very nice picture of Mount Peale! Il like the reflection within the calm lake in front of it. Very good pov and the colours are perfect...! I put your picture in the workshop and add it more sharpness using Photoshop...

TFS,

Michel

Hi Dan
Very nice capture.POV,framing and composition are wonderful.TFS..José

The lighting is great in this photo. Colors are good. I might have liked to see more of the grass which you have included in the bottom right corner just to give the photo a little more interest in the foreground. Also, the use of a one stop split neutral density filter might have been useful, so the exposure for the reflection on the lake wasn't so dark, but it still looks fine the way it is. Overall this is a great landscape photo, and it looks sharp enough to me.

Hello Dan,

Great view and reflections, so nice compo, and very peaceful place. Thank you, best wishes,
Elena

very nice landscape...
perfect reflection..

Hi Dan,
A late welcome to TN. I agree with Evelynn, we can use more landscape photograpers on TN and I hope that you will be one of us.
I like the workshop of Michel since it just gives that little more umpf to the photo. But without it, it is still a beautiful and excellent photo.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Dan, great lanscape.
The mirroring effect on the water is fantastic!
Nice colours, framing and details.
Maurizio

Dan,

I like your landscape pic. The reflection in the water and composition to get fit all that in definitely makes the pic for me. I also posted a landscape a while back. Not sure it's as good as yours but have a look and let me know (Landscapes are not my speciality)

The colours and detail show are also very good. Well Done, TFS,
Sheriff

Hello Dan,
Let me put it this way, you were there at the right moment!
A very good image for many reasons... Composition, the play of sunlight, the reflections, colours and clarity, and so on...
Very well done!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Dan,
Beautiful shot and quite amazing scenery. Excellent colours and good detail, good composition with an excellent reflection. I read all the critiques and posted a workshop with a little sharpening and the light balanced out as Ersin was suggesting. Hope you don't mind and like the result. Great shot and a fine opening post.
Regards,
Adrian

Dan, This shot makes me want to get up there-something I have wanted to do for a long time.

This is a good photo. I particularly like the workshop posted by aido.

It looks like you could use a graduated neutral density filter here to even out the brightness of the sky and lighten the reflection. Also, a small bit of foreground might increase interest in the frame. A pile of rocks or fallen log might work.

Good job. Keep it up.

Hi Dan

This is a splendid photo!
At first, i had no idea how i missed this, but then i looked at the date it was posted and i realized i wasn't a TN member then ;))
Anyway, the composition here is terrific and your timing is brilliant!
Catching the light only on the peak and not on the bank of the lake sure gave this picture an extra something!
Also the preflection here is fantastic and the fact that it's actually brighter than the patch of land near it makes it stand out even better.
The colros are very beautifully saturated, the details are nice and sharp throughout the entire frame and the exposure is very well maanged.
Top job!!!

Bravo and TFS
Horia
