[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Branta canadensis (the Canadian goose) are very prolific in certain areas. They are found throughout North America and can be divided into four subspecies. It is currently their breeding season, and females can be found incubating their nests. Males become very defensive during this time, and will not hesitate to attack a percieved predator of his progeny. The diet includes terrestrial and aquatic grasses, which can present a problem when the geese graze in areas such as golf courses. Chemicals have been developed to ward the geese off but not harm them.
