Crested Caracara is related to the falcon, looks very hawklike, but scavenges like a vulture.
They have longer legs adapted for more time on the ground. They join vultures more often than not at a carcass, usually running off the vultures to get to the food first.
They are found from Texas and Arizona to Norther South America, also in small populations in southern Florida.
