| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Taken in afternoon sun. I stopped the car and jumped out to get this shot, along with a few others. I think this is a Tiger Swallowtail? I'm learning as much about insects as I am about cameras on this website! 1/400, F5.6, 200mm lens. I find that butterflies most often have their wings up when collecting pollen from flowers. I'm not always disciplined enough to wait until just before takeoff, as they spread their wings. But I'm still practicing. I wonder particularly about the composition in this shot. Could I have framed it better? This is the original framing, and I don't think I like the yellow background upper right from the butterfly. |

Very good catch of thos tiger swallowtail, like the composition altough with the surroundings the eye wanders around in this picture trying to find the main subject...about the yellow bg , I think it is not disturbing because it is in the DOF..made a workshop with a tighter crop to give the the focus on the main subject here : the Swallowtail.
regards : Leon
The colours are good and you have nice capture, but there too much details in this picture and the viewer can't focus on the subject, the suggested WS is good.

A lovely photo, colourful and very nice butterfly, I find the WS of Letr very nice, but this is personal.
Thanks for sharing.
I had a look at the WS. It is a very nice crop. But this photo of yours has a fairy tale world look to it. The greens, flowers, b/fly i like it. Like John said: It's personal.
Martin, Nice butterfly shot. I would crop away part of the left as the butterfly gets lost in the detail of the plants.
After having made a WS I saw that letr also made a WS. Anyway have a look at it.
Greetings, Jan
