[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the path near the spectacular Akaka Falls on the Big Islands, we walked next by this stream that was way much better for picture try outs than the actual Akaka Falls.

No tripod was used but fortunately a fence was used to stabilized the camera. Shutter speed was actually 2.5 seconds

Nice judgement for shutterspeed. You were lucky to have had something to stablize the camera so well for the picture. It looks great! I love the colors... and the lush/moist environment you captured so well. It looks like a beautiful place! The balance between light and dark is very nice. One thing you might be able to do to improve it just a bit is to crop (or clone out) the really bright fern and leaves in the bottom right hand corner. I'll do a workshop if I remember.. I can't do one now because I'm over my posting limit for the day already. :)

Hello Stephan,
Nice and sharp photo. The impression for me is like this is a view from a fairytail.
Great shutter speed for the water flow.
Thank you
Martina

Hi Stephan

A lovely clear shot. Nice POV. Very good depth of colour. Light is excellent. Nice work. :-)

Hi Stephan,
I have almost the exact same shot. It was getting dark when we got there, so The waterfall shots were bland. I used my tripod off the bridge in semi darkness for a 30 second exposure. Beautiful saturated colors. Nice sharp detail and great DOF. The slow shutter speed has created a beautiful effect on the moving water.

Will revisit for pts. tomorrow

Hi Stephan,
How in the ..... could I have missed this one. Beautiful photo with excellent use of the shutter speed. You still managed to keep the exposure perfect and the high f-stop made the photo sharp in every place. I love the POV with the little parts of leaf in the front for extra depth.
TFS,
Niek

Rich greens, excellent exposure, well taken.

Beautifull done, Stephan. Great exposure, both the timing and lighting. Nice DoF to capture the entire frame. I like pepe's WS without the light green plants in the front, too.
