[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm posting this image because I think it is interesting, not necessarily a great shot. It is a follow-up to yesterday's post. It was taken from a cliff just north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. From here the outflow of the waters of San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean is even more evident. The two major rivers of California, the Sacramento and the San Joaquin empty into San Francisco Bay, and then flow under the Golden Gate Bridge to merge with the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is evident here that they do not merge right away. There are even little white caps to show where one body of water meets the other. The color of the bay water is due to all the recent rains that California had and the mud is being carried to the sea.

That IS an amazing phenomenon to catch, Evelynn.
You seem to have found just the spot to capture this rarely seen natural occurrence. This shot is not only interesting, but very aesthetic. I find the composition very pleasing, and the sharpness and colors are great.
The curves formed by the little cove and the outflow are intriguing.

JN.

That is a rather interesting phenomenon Evelynn. The merging of the Mighty Fraser River with the ocean is also a fascinating sight to see. Sometimes the "interesting" photos can be every bit as fascinating as the "great" photos.

Hi Evelynn,
I think you're very right to show us this interesting phenomenon. I agree with Manyee that he composition is very pleasing. Good use of the foreground and the position of the horizon at the top of the photo is necessary here.
Very well seen, good note also.
Regards, Ruud

Hi Evelynn, great shot. I find the outflow very interesting, it's amazing how can you see the divide in the water. The shot is well exposed and has good lighting and your POV makes it feel as if you are actually standing there yourself. Nice one and TFS.

Hi Evelynn,
I have to admit I haven't seen any of your work for a while. I think this is a great shot! You've picked a perfect focal point in the image to bring even the grass at your feet into focus. Lovely details, natural colours and great exposure. Wonderful light too.
Regards,
Adrian

Hi Evelynn,
Great to see the difference in color of the bay water and ocean. Is it great effidence of the rain that has fallen. I love your composition with the grass in the F/G and the rocks in the m/g. Great way of putting the horizon al the way to the top.
TFS,
Niek
