Hi Scott!
White parts of picture are always very difficult to proper exposure, especially together with darker ones. You did good job with Photoshop. BG is very good - blurred and with nice dark greens. You're better and better my friend! Both - thistle and insect are detailed, sharp, with good DOF. To be honest - I like thistle more :-)

The isolation here is perfect. I like the dark diagonal line of OOF BG, it seems to mimic the angle of the skipper. The image is colorful and vivid. Very cool post. the OE on the wing is VERY minor and hardly noticeable.
You have made OOF BG's your "style". I like your style! Very well done.

Hello Scott,
Very good shot! Lovely colours, very good POV and framing. It seems the head is a little softer than the rest of the b'fly, but shallowd DOF gave you a very clear BG as well.

it's not your best one Scot,
the pov is quite good, the composition can be done better, but even that I think personal that you must have some luck too with the pose, farther good job. Here in the Netherland are almost no butterflies, with the cold weather from the last weeks.

Scott, I have to agree with most poeple here, that thistle is wonderful. I only wish tehre was a little more of it. As for the b'fly, it too is good, but not quite as good as the thistle, little else can be said that has not been said many many times over.
