Not really the partridge and the pear tree but darn close: a green heron (Butorides virescens) and Californian fan palm tree (Washingtonia filifera).

Tripod : Hakuba carbon fiber with Velbon ball-head

I love the hunched pose of this green heron,
and the warm colors of this shot.
The sharp details on the wings really bring out the beautiful pattern on them.
I really like the way each green feather is etched with the orange.
