Aquilegia sp, or Columbine, comes in a wide and pleasing range of colors, but I think this specimen is particularly regal.

In Wisconsin, columbine appears in a variety of habitat, including Southern Upland Forest, Beech Forest, Boreal Forest, Cliff, Northern Upland Forest, Pine Barrens, Prairie, Savanna, and Southern Lowland Forest, according to the Wisconsin Botanical Information System(http://www.botany.wisc.edu/wisflora/scripts/detail.asp?SpCode=AQUCAN). In other words, some form of columbine is likely to be found in most places in our state.

This particular shot was taken at one of my favorite spots, the local nature preserve.

Hello, nice photo. This is Aquilegia sp. (Ranunculaceae-Buttercup Family).

I love this flower. Somewhere on my site I think I have one. I was wandering today through my comments, saw yours, and saw the Columbine. I took another picture today in a different location, but for my website, not TN.

The vivid colors in one columbine and centered and in focus is enough for me. They certainly are a sight to behold and thanks for sharing.

What a original shape and beautiful colours. I like this flower very much. A detailed, well exposure and well saturated photo of this wonderful flower.
