[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This bird has become a frequent visit to our suet feeder. I have not been able to identify it. It has a black cap on its head, and a red flash under the tail just where the tail joins the body. The reddish area round the beak may be feathers or may be from some of the berries in the area that are quite plentiful. Any idea what the name of this bird is?

Later ... thanks to Rob Fry (arfer) it is clear than this is indeed a gray catbird - first time I've seen one.

Gray catbirds are native to the Nearctic region. They breed in north, central and eastern United States (from Oregon to New Mexico, to along the East coast), and south-central and western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba). During the winter they live in the extreme southeastern United States, along the east coast of Mexico, and in the Caribbean Islands. (Cimprich and Moore, 1995)

A very nice picture, Alan, with great detail and an excellent POV. The bg look good, too and i like the small image very much...gives a different perspective on the animal.
Very well done. Bravo and TFS

Wow, what an interesting specie. I think it is the first time I see one. This is a good capture with nice pose from your unusual model and useful picture in vignette, well done :)
