Underside View

Description:
Anna's Hummingbirds are iridescent bronzy green above and grayish white below, with a varying amount of green wash at the flanks. Males have a deep rose-red crown and gorget that extends to the sides of the neck. Females may have some red feathers at the throat, but none on the crown. Wings and tail are dark, with the female's tail feathers tipped with white.

Cool fact:
Originally found only on the Pacific slope from Baja California to San Francisco, Anna's Hummingbird has increased its population and expanded its breeding range in recent years to Vancouver, British Colombia, east to southern Arizona. This expansion has been abetted by the introduction of exotic flowering plants, especially Eucalyptus, red-hot-poker (Tritoma) and tree tobacco (Nicotiana glauca), and by the proliferation of hummingbird feeders.

Hello Manyee,
Excellent picture. I am still wondering about the technique in capturing this fast moving bird. A perfect picture to appreciate. TFS

Hello Manyee, excllent colors, Bg, POV DOF perfect details, Great work, TFS Kyle

Hi Manyee,
EXCELLENT! I love hummingbirds, and this looks great. Composition and framing on the shot look great. Colors and detail are spot on. We are not getting many this year at all. We only get Ruby throats here on a regular basis, but very few now. Nice camera work!

Helo Manyee,
A great composition to present this hummingbird. I like this little birds very much. I see that you used the cloning tool to get rid of a part of the plant around the bird. Strange plant too. Well done, good details and TFS

ManYee,
Thsi is a great capture. Everyhing is in focus and the composition works well.
Anton

Manyee,

You did a great job there! They are not easy to catch because the are such nervous birds and so little (if they are the same kind of those I'm thinking of). I guess the 1600 speed to "freeze" the subject was needed. Nice timing and very well done! TFS,

Claudine

terrific job & take care, thorsten.

The 1/1600 was not enough to get perfect still the wings :)
It is incredibe how fast they move them.
It is a very beautiful foto, with great composition and nice golden colours. Both this and the WS make a great pair.
TFS.

Hello Manyee,
To actually see one of these beautiful birds and to photograph one are two of my wishes.
This is a great capture.
I like the POV,the colours and detail are just great.
A nice blue sky BG too.
Great work,well done.

TFS

Hi ManYee,

I bet you are pleased with this capture! The composition and the plant are nice too, so I guess luck was on your side here. If I were to photograph a hummingbird there would surely be a telephone pole or garbage can behind it! I can't be certain but it seems that since you got your new camera a lot of your photos seem a little contrasty to me. I don't know if it's the camera or something you are doing in pp or my monitor. It is still a super shot and a great addition to your gallery portfolio.

Evelynn : )

Hi Manyee,
Very great capture. I like this composition and POV. Nice effect on the wings!
TFS,
Emmanuel
