This was taken along Morman Row road in Antelope Flats in southern Grand Teton Park.

Located in northwestern Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park protects spectacular mountain scenery and a diverse collection of wildlife. The central feature of the park – the Teton Range — is a 40-mile-long mountain front rising from the valley floor some 6,000 feet. The towering Tetons were formed from earthquakes that occurred over the past 13 million years along a fault line. The jagged range includes its signature peak – Grand Teton, 13,770 feet (4,198 m) – and at least twelve pinnacles over 12,000 feet (3,658 m). Seven morainal lakes adorn the base of the range, and more than 100 alpine lakes dot the backcountry.

Elk, moose, mule deer, bison and pronghorn, are commonly found in the park. Black bears roam the forests and canyons, while grizzlies range throughout more remote portions of the park. More than 300 species of birds can be observed, including bald eagles, peregrine falcons and trumpeter swans.

Hi Evelynn! This is a wonderful composition. I really like what's going on in the sky, and the contrast with the ground. But it's also the kind of shot that gives me PP nightmares. Trying to adjust the curves to reveal enough in the clouds and ground, balancing the color in the sunset, oy! I see you shot with the grad filter, but I think this is an instance where you could have used a bigger gradient. I played with this for a while and never really got something that I felt was better, just different. The thing that I think did help was the PP grad filter. I'll post a copy just to see if you get any ideas.

Magnificent shapes and lights in the sky, Evelynn.
Somehow the curly contours and position of the clouds suggest whirling movements. A very dynamic sky.
I like the contrast with the very dark foreground.

what a sky. those clouds are just great - seems the US has some amazing cloud formations.

foreground could be just a touch lighter, but that's just my opinion.

Hi there,
What an impressive looking sky, actually so much better then the plain blue sky I have in my Teton shots. I disagree on the light on the f/g. The darkness let me concentrate better on the sky. Did you get any rain from this cloud or were you lucky?

What a wonderful sky you have capture Evelynn, full of warm tones and great forms. Its a pity the land is in darkness though, I would certainly pass the dodge brush over that grass a few times to illuminate the foreground. You can usually get a way more with greens in this respect. Regards Steve.

Great dramatic sky! I really like how you chose to move the horizon line so low in the picture to accentuate the clouds. Nice work on capturing the details in the clouds! TFS!
