| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
While visiting my son one night, I noticed a cicada (Thank you Peter and JeanMarie), which had attached itself to his house, shedding its exoskelton proving again that nature can be stranger than sci fi movies.
I took many shots of the activity over several minutes and picked this one to post. POV is directly above shooting straight down and using flash. The shot has been cropped and rotated for ease of viewing. |

Super. Dommage cette surexposition. Mais étrange quand même... merci
Hallo Lowell,
you captured a nice moment in the life of this cicada - just a picture for TrekNature.
Sharpness and light, however, are not optimal. Based on your picture, I tried a workshop and I hope that you like the result.
Peter
Strange funny and interesting picture.
As mentioned by Batu, this is a cicada.
Technically some nits:
- Focus should have been done on the head of the cicada instead of on the exuvie body.
- You should have use a large diffuser to avoid surexposition and shadow (Mandatory when using flash in macrophotography).
The sci fi effect is great.
