[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A couple of days ago, I was out in my backyard when these two hummingbirds zoomed by my head, in hot pursuit of each other. I ran inside to get my camera, and came back out to find them still chasing each other. Then one of the hummingbirds perched on a twig right above my head. I backed up a couple of steps and snapped a few shots as fast as I could. It was not until I uploaded the pictures onto my computer that I realized I had narrowly missed being blessed by hummer water. : P

Anna's Hummingbird
Calypte anna

Underside View

Description:
Anna's Hummingbirds are iridescent bronzy green above and grayish white below, with a varying amount of green wash at the flanks. Males have a deep rose-red crown and gorget that extends to the sides of the neck. Females may have some red feathers at the throat, but none on the crown. Wings and tail are dark, with the female's tail feathers tipped with white.

Cool fact:
Originally found only on the Pacific slope from Baja California to San Francisco, Anna's Hummingbird has increased its population and expanded its breeding range in recent years to Vancouver, British Colombia, east to southern Arizona. This expansion has been abetted by the introduction of exotic flowering plants, especially Eucalyptus, red-hot-poker (Tritoma) and tree tobacco (Nicotiana glauca), and by the proliferation of hummingbird feeders.

Hi Manyee,
They say timing is everything. I guess there right. Your timing here is perfect. Great colors and detail in this shot. Beautiful blue sky backround. Excellent shot on the Anna's Hummingbird.

Great moment captured ManYee ;)

It seems by some strange coincidence that we both have peein' animals posted... What are the odds of that happening again! Sharp and detailed and I like the blue color of the sky here...Is your camera water-proof? ;-}}

I saw this the other day but didn't have any points left. I thought this was just a beautiful picture until I read your note and noticed the extra details in the photo ;-)

Great action shot. Great timing both for the photo and for not getting soaked.

The picture is lovely too, nice details and colours
