I have to start with telling you that I have been a bit stupid. After my storm photos, I forgot to re-set my camera, so I took the first few photos with -1EV, hence the less bright colors in this photo. Further, if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have switched back to shooting this in JPEG. Oh, I might have been stupid again, because it could be that I can make a LP version of this photo, but I already shut down Photoshop and only saved this version. Better luck next time.

So what about this photo. This is actually one of the mountains you could see in my storm series. It is located in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, near the Sun River, which we were about to visit on this day trip. It was a pretty rough ride to get to here, because we had to drive for over 30 minutes on unpaved roads with lots of washboard pieces. I figured out that you can drive over these washboard with 10 MPH or with 40 MPH. If you do the latter, you fly over them almost every time. Thanks Budget for giving us a 4 wheel drive car.

Tech talk: Shot in JPEG using my CP at the almost open position with -1EV, lots of PP work to get better contrast, colors and light, crop, USM, frame, resize and USM.

Hallo Niek,
Great shot. Very sharp and clear. Superb details. Very scenic landscape.

Hi Niek.
This is a nice lanscape, I think it would be perfect to post a Large View. I am sure that with a bigger format we would be able to see the moody tones much better.
I like tthe contour against the beautiful sky.
TFS.

Hello Niek,
I like the panoramic presentation, it works very well for this photo. Great sky. Other than being a bit on the dark side (Darth Vader & all) ;) it's a very nice capture..
Your words regarding JPEG VS RAW remind me of a country tune I've heard. You know "If I knew now what I didn't now then" ;)
Great post & TFS!

We have driven hundreds of miles on washboard roads...we are the ones going 10-15mph and stopping and waiting till the dust settles from all the speedy ones flying past us! : P We could go faster without a camper but a washboard road isn't good for all the appliances etc. in a camper.

This image is really nice and sharp though a little dull. That is easily fixed. I certainly would never think of you as stupid! ...just human. What is an LP version?

Hoi Niek,
Hoewel een beetje donker, ligt de schonheid van deze foto in de details. De textuur van de bergen met verschillende lagen en de beweging van de wolken erboven die elkaar versterken. De boomen geven een goed idee van de scala van dit massief.
Groeten

Hi Niek,
Beautiful mountain! I like the the silhouette a lot. And invitation to trek!
TFS, José M.
PS. I forget many times to change ISO and take shots at ISO 200 under full sun!:-)

Although slightly dark, I still enjoy this landscape. The green hills against the brown cliffs. TFS

Hello Niek,
interesting part of the Rockies, there they look more like canyons compared to the majestic mountain peeks further north. Excellent landscape, what a view. POV, details and composition is ver good.
