[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Gibson Resevoir is where the water of the Sun River is stored for the vast irrigation system of the Teton County Area. The Resevoir is located Lewis and Clark National Forrest close to the Continental Divide.

This photo was taken from the top of one of the hills surrounding the resevoir. I don't have to start writing about the spectacular climb up the hill, because you could just do it by car and park in the huge parking lot. The weahter that day wasn't really beautiful and more clouds gathered over the mountains, hence the grey sky.

Tech talk: Shot in RAW still -1EV, adjusted brightness +1 and sharpened. Converted to JPEG, adjusted contrast, and highlights, framed and resized.

There is super depth of focus and sharpness overall in this shot, Niek. It is a nice vista. It's a shame about the weather but that is a one of the problems with travelling through an area. One almost always has to take what one gets as far as weather and light. I've been playing with a new technique and this photo was a good one to practice on. I'm tired of playing with all of mine!

Hi Niek,
More great shots of "Big Sky Country" Excellent composition. The light is soft and shadowless here. Colors, detail, and DOF look great. AWESOME!

Hello Niek,
Interesting point of view, my friend!
Good foreground interest, nice framing of the lake...
Good colours in spite of something looking like low light... Lovely place well depicted!
Greetings,
Pablo -

tooo bad about the cloudy day but still a great shot.. the rocks and shrubbiery int he forground make it interesting , the moutains are so pretty..TFS
Donna :o)

great point of view but it would have been much more rewarding if you had climbed up there! Its a nice view with good DOF and sharpness. Those rocks in the foreground are a nice touch, they have some nice colours and grain to them.

I like what Evelynn has done with the picture, it has brought it out nicely becuase it definietly needed lightening IMO...

Still it is a nice view and I haven't been there so any verison is good to see.

Hi Niek,
Goede details, diepte en compositie, enkel spijtig dat er geen straaltje zon was om het geheel wat levendiger te maken. Hoewel je dat wel gecompenseerd hebt door de 2 licht gekleurde stenen op de vorgrond.

Well done, Niek. Great combination of fg, middle, and bg with DoF here makes for a great landscape. Substitute this lens for your 10mm and it's almost a signal-womb shot (which is to say great mix of elements and DoF). When I saw the shot my first thought was "too bad about the weather." So I agree with Evelynn's crop.

Hi Niek,

Superb ! The composition is realy atractive. I like the 2 bolders in front. A lot of different tones of green. The mountains in the back are very pleasing. DOF is good, brightness and lighting are very well balance. Good Job.
