Beautiful beast, but for me the background is a bit too white, gives it a cutout look between his back and the snow. Is there no way of getting a bit texture in the back?

Very good photo.
I agree that the contrast could be smaller - the details would be probably more clear then, but I think that the composition is very good.
I like your photo very much because of the subject. I've never seen American Bison, but I think it is very simmilar to his cousin - European Bison (Bison bonasus). This is very huge animal that lives in my country. Historically they lived in almost all Europe, including southern England, and Russia, but alike in America hunting eradicated most populations and now there is very few animals. Now bison is classified as endangered and people are trying to restore its population.

Nice, almost surreal, image. I love the way you have isolated the animal against the (lack of) background. Good photography, and good detail in the animal as a result.

Nice composition, I really like it. The only nit is that the face is too dark.
TFS.

A great shoot, Ricardo. I like it very much.
Not easy to manage with white BG.
Thanks

I actually like this cutout look, it focusses the eye on the subject and nothing else. The sharpness is very good and I like the composition.
Very well done and thanks for posting
