This range of mountains is a little southeast of Grand Teton Park.

............................................................................................................

The Wind River Range stretches more than 100 miles in western Wyoming and contains 35 named peaks over 13,000 feet in elevation. Gannett Peak, Wyoming's highest, is in the Wind River Range. Seven of the largest glaciers in the Rocky Mountains are located in the Wind River Range. There are no roads in the wilderness, and mechanized vehicles, including mountain bikes and snowmachines, are not allowed. The Wind River Range encompasses an area of 2.25 million acres and forms a triple divide for three major western watersheds: the Columbia River, the Colorado River, and the Missouri. The Winds are a mecca for backcountry travelers and offer exceptional backcountry trail trips, mountaineering, technical rock climbing, and wilderness experiences.

The high country typically opens up around mid-July and remains open through mid-September. Snow can occur at any time, however, and visitors should be prepared for the possibility of subfreezing temperatures even in the summer. Afternoon thunderstorms, with lightning and rain showers, are common during the summer. Typical daytime summer temperatures in the high country reach the 70s-80s with nighttime lows averaging in the 30s.

Lovely composition, Evelynn, of this fantastic scenery.
What I find most impressive in this shot is the range of colors, both on the mountains and on the vegetation, and how true they look. Everything is in perfect focus and exposure.

Hola Evelynn,
Disfruto mucho con tus paisajes, son excelentes... un fuerte saludo y gracias

Wow Evelynn, this photo is just breathtaking! I love the white birch like trees in the center, and the lines of the mountains behind. Wonderful colors, focus, light and the scale is marvelous. The name caught my attention since I live on the Wind River, but the scenery isn't so dramatic as this, well done.

Hello Evelynn,
Interesting formations in the landscape!
I like the diagonal and the light on the fresh green grass in front, the naked trunks of the trees are quite eye-catching...
Nice contrast from the green to the remains of snow!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Evelynn,
I like the different layers of vegitation, especially the trees. It all gives the photo a whole range of colors. I think I know what some of the PP work was on this photo. It created this great depth by putting the mountain part more toward the BG. As Pablo mentioned, the naked truks are a great eye catcher. Great control over the light, it seems harsh and still all colors are in perfect condition.
TFS,
Niek

P.S. my 'strange' eyes spotted a little dirt spot. Chuckle

Another nice one Evelynn, I like the scale of this picture. Having those trees in the front of the mountains gives good scale to the area. Composition, DOF, saturation Is wath I like here. I also like the stand of trees with the white bark.
