[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I mean flowers. One might think they are easier to photograph than animals. They won't get up and run or fly away, so there's tendency to think that to take a good picture of a flower is not nearly as challenging as taking one of an insect. I would disagree, because for the same precise reason we expect more from a shot depicting a flower than from one showing a bird. Therefore I was a little afraid so far to post images similar to this one. After all, aren't we happier when we are not the only ones who like the pictures we post here? But here's my most recent take on the subject and I hope to hear what you think.
This shot was taken at -1EV compensation further decreased by -1/3 in post processing to get as much detail as possible out of the flower's petals. Otherwise original. The background was a shrub with dark leaves hidden in the shadow. Shot taken on a monopod.

You get a nice result with your 100-400mm at max length.

Me agrada... definitivamente.
Los detalles de los pétalos son maravillosos así como el trasfondo oscuro que realza la flor en todo su esplendor.
Correcto DOF y POV además de un encuadre muy agradable.

Hola Mark.- Estoy de acuerdo contigo, no es nada facil lograr una bella foto de una flor como esta. En cuanto a esta foto la encuentro muy nitida y con un exelente luz., El fondo le da un toque muy especial. Saludos Luis52

La luz esta en su punto, has sabido preservar la textura de la flor siendo complicado por ser amarilla. La profundidad dado con el segundo me gusta, le da asi mas relieve para cabar finalmente en la oscuridad. Una buena foto Mark. Saludos

Hello Mark,
I always prefer to take flowers than moving objects. But sometimes the wind is not helpful for us. Especially long plants were efected by wind and they move so bad. We cannot good focus. I often encounter this event during taking flower photos.
But yours is a best one. A perfect work with all details.
