Hello David,
Absolutely beautiful. : )
It is my dream to one day see the aurora borealis with my own eyes.
In the meantime, I sure appreciate this fantastic image that shows the amazing lights against the silhouetted trees.

I have heard of the aurora, but here 'down under' in New Zealand I have neve seen one. Is this coloour natural? I would love to see one.
Great shot, especially with the tree silhouettes showing. TFS

If camping it's a full contact with Nature, with this aurora over your head it must be a sublime experience. You have remembered me Northern exposure. I find this shot so beautiful that seems almost unreal.
Thank for sharing,
José M.

Hi David,
Congratulations for this beautiful and rare capture. This year, is the first one that I haven't see one... Usually, when we go camping in Mont-Tremblant National Park in August, we always see one or two but not this year :( This is beautiful and well done David with the stars all around, you must be proud of this :-) Well done and TFS,
claudine

Hi David,
That is an amazing shot! Very cool... ;-} The silhouettes of the trees are just enough to give it a nice composition and sense of depth.
Very nice camera work!

Hi David,
This is till on my list of the see before I die. I love the swirl in the aurora you've captured. Great idea to include the trees in the shot it gives it a kind of scale.
TFS,

Out of this world, David. You did an excellent job composing this with the trees in the bg and the aurora behind. This would be a graet composition had you been working in light, but that seems pretty hard in the dark. So well done Great job on the exposure, too.
Mike
I see these a couple time a year, usually from my backyard hot tub. Last year I was so eager to catch one with my new camera, but didn't see one all winter. Thanks for the additional inspiration!

Wow. That is really amazing. I lived in Alaska for a year and never really saw an aurora. I guess a long exposure intensifies the color a bit. This is a nicely executed shot. Thanks for sharing it.
