DID YOU EVER THINK THAT YOU WOULD SEE..
SOMETHING CALLED AN IBIS TREE?

Hello All..

Of course, this is not an Ibis tree, but a Carolina Long Leaf Pine full of Ibis'. I was driving close to my home late one afternoon and happened to notice many Ibis and Herons all flying in the same direction. Well, I followed, then parked, then walked, then crawled through brush and came upon a small pond hidden by trees. These trees were full of Herons and Ibis roosting for the night. They were extrememly skiddish and even reacted to the sound of my shutter. I had crawled in under some brush, so I could not stand, afraid to sit (snakes), no tripod, low light, bottom line.....lots of shots, two usuable. I kept thinking so many of you would have known exactly how to get these shots without blurring them. I missed so many good images with the birds flying by so close and flaring to land. I am so impatient to improve. :-\

Any critiques, comments, tips are appreciated and thanks for looking.
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

What a amazing shot, great POV and composition, nice colours too. The tree does look like it is decorated with them, maybe they are auditioning to take over from Robins as the Christmas bird.

TFS Hilary :)

Hi Kathy,
This is awesome, a school of big birds in the same tree!!
You were lucky to be around with a camera...
And you use it well, pleasant composition with good details!
Greetings,

Una bonita captura Kathy con una maravillosa agrupación de estas aves.
Buen POV y DOF, tal vez los colores no son óptimos por la iluminación disponible, pero la escena tiene un gran valor estético.
Buen trabajo... Ricardo

Beautiful capture Kathy with a wonderful grouping of these birds.
Good POV and DOF, perhaps the colors are not good for the available illumination, but the scene has a great value aesthetic.
Good work... Ricardo

Hi Kathy,

What a surprising shot ! I first thought this was a collage. Well seen and well done.
TFS.

Hi Kathy,
This is an excellent catch, wow! I never saw those Ibis and not so many at the same time of course. Wonderful DOF which lets us see all the Ibis with good clarity. You did a nice composition too. This is a very interesting post with great notes. TFS,
Claudine

Hi Kathy,
I love your Ibis tree! Very cool shot. They are standing so perfect that they almost look like those plastic Flamingos people put in their yards. Well done!
