Clark's grebe, such strong swimmers. They are diving fishing birds. We have two types of Grebe that I have seen here. The second is the western Grebe, the color is close, they have a dark bill and the black contrast extends below the eye. From what I read they do not interbreed, yet live in the same range. I have seen them swim togeather. Makes one wonder ...

Hi Scott,

Very nice subject. Slightly over sharpened. Did a workshop where I removed some of the noise. I assume you did some major cropping here?

Hi Scott,
Fine shot of this grebe: the noise does not detract. Interesting about two closely related species sharing the same habitat, yet not hybridising. There must be some characteristic that keeps them apart.

What a beautiful Grebe you've portrayed here, I like the very sharp profile against the green. Some noise in the background though.

Nicely done Scott. Good DOF on this photo. A bit of cropping on the bottom to remove some of the FG blur might help.

Great sharpness and colours.

Hey, Scott,
Great shot of this grebe. Very sharp and well exposed.
I have always wanted to photograph some grebes, but have not had much luck except for the little pied-billed grebes that live in our neighborhood lake.
This one is beautiful.
TFS. : )

I think that you cropped a lot a pic taken from some distance. Doesn't matter as colors are brilliant. Composition too. And the atmosphere is just lovely.
That's a great pic.

Nice catch Scott! Details and POV are good. I like the pose of the bird too. There is a little noise in BG though but it is a nice picture anyway :)
