[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Okay choir, all together now,
do~re~me~fa~so~la~te~do... Hey, let's cut the carp over there! Hold that note, hold it...and no more carp out of you young man!" ;o)

This sea of carp were actually struggling for best position for food. There is a large pond at the theme park in Federal Way, Washington (state) where there is a row of vending machines full of what looks like dog food. You put a quarter in the slot, turn the nob and out comes a handful of food.

Once the food is dropped into the water, the fish (and ducks) literally climb on top of each other to get their bounty.

I have never seen the likes before. It was actually quite disgusting but I found harmonious humor in this picture.

You'll get no more carp out of me! ;o)

Tim, Funny and at the same time sad shot IMO. From a photographic POV it is very nice and I agree on the nice pattern in the water. Good shot.

Both sad and funny that one Tim, it's a great capture with dof and composition spot on and a note that brings it all home - well done

At first glance, I thought these poor little fishies were being rounded up to be eaten, but after reading your note, I'm glad they were the ones going to be doing the eating. :)
So, who made the choir? I'll bet the big guy in the upper left thirds who seems to be attracting the most attention made it for sure! He seems like the go-getter type.
Great composition, color, and exposure. You can still see the beautiful sky in the reflection of the water/sweat blend from the hard up hungry fishies. :) Thank you so much for sharing this one. It's going straight into my favorites!

Great capture!The carp look like they are frozen in some kind of jelly!!

Very funny shot Tim, there is a rainbow trout pound at the Bonneville Dam, where you can pay for the food to feed the fish too. I tried to get a photo, but they're not so comical as these carp, and harder to get a decent shot of. I love the reflective quality of the water you've captured here. Super photo, nice smiles all around!

This is an awesome pic. I have seen the same at the Key West Aquarium, but with grouper. They just sit there with their mouths open, hoping you hit the target. ha Love the note too!
