In the Island of Maui is this most attractive park
called "Haleakala National Park."

It begins at about 6000' level on the slopes of the mountain that rises to more than 10,000' above central Maui.

You are looking at entrance of an EXTINCT volcano. It can get very cold here at this height. Since the island is HOT & the atmosphere at this level is colder, cloud formation is frequent. Among Haleakala's greatest appeals are its cloud and mist formations that reflect vibrant colours, particularly at sunrise and sunset.

The most unusual flowers grow here. Dont know, yet, if
I'll be able to post these on TN or I, myself, see them ever again via the images I had captured.

I had a small accident on 25th. October 2006. Because of my limited knowledge of computers I accidentally
DELETED ALL MY PHOTOS within my library. Was heart broken. I relayed this sad news to " Niek" the SUN TOUCHER. He was fast to respond. I took his advise &
followed his guidance.

Have been able to RETRIEVE some of my work. A lot of them are damaged. This is one of the many that was saved, YES, SAVED.

Hence the title:"One of the RESSURECTED."

THIS POSTING IS DEDICATED TO NEIK, the SUN TOUCHER,
as a sign of my ENDLES GRATITUDE.

Hi Aires,
Amazing view at this high altitude, look like there is no plant survive under this extreme climatic and land conditions. Beautiful landscape, well captured.

Ben Lakitan

Thanks for the note. Now I know who to contact when I have a technological catastrophe...except I use a Mac so maybe I would just be out of luck...and out of pictures. I'm glad you were able to ressurect your photos. As they so often say...back up...back up...back up your files. Which reminds me...I'm way behind on that chore!

I would not have guessed that this was Hawaii. It looks almost baren rather than tropical. Very interesting. It also interesting that I live on the other side of the same ring of fire. Just visited Mount Rainier and Mount Jefferson...both volcanoes near to where I live.

Evelynn : )

Hello Mario,
It is a strange landscape indeed!
The altitude puts its mark on the landscape with less vegetation, and it is almost like the clouds are falling down...
Good lines in the composition, interesting colours!
Greetings,
Pablo -

PS
I'm very sad to hear about your horrible accident!!! Something out of my worst nightmare...
Good thing Niek were able to help you out so at least you could save some of the work!
REMEMBER TO MAKE BACK-UPS ONCE IN A WHILE!!!

Mario,
bonito e misterioso lugar, parece mágico, cem por cento meu amigo, andas por lugares maravilhosos, parabéns,
Nelson

Hi Mario,
Thank you for the dedication. I was just there at the right moment and had some idea that luckely helped you get some of your photos back. I would expect that other TN members would do the same. This is IMHO part of the TN experience.

ABout the photo, just spectacular, it really shows how lava forms this country.

TFS,
Niek

Hi Mario,

Beautiful composition where clouds blend with mountains in a very aesthetic way. Wonderful colors and a magic place!

A very desagreeable experience that all can suffer one day. The only way to save things stored in a computer is to copy valuable files in another hard disk. Today USB external drives are cheap enough and it is extremely easy and fast to copy and paste everything you want in this second hard disk. No software or hardware setting, no learning curve to climb: just to pay a few dolars. Forget the lost photo portfolio and begin a new one!

Best regard my friend.
José M.

Hi Mario,
Extinct volcanos have something magnetic on people. This one has amazing colours and it seems already an interesting vegetation. The mist adds to its mystery.
I'm really sad to what happened to you with the pictures. I hope you will ressuscite many of them.
Anne

Hello Mario,
Interesting landscape that still mark with violent from the past.
Sorry about lost of pictures. For me, I use CD and DVD for backing my photos. Regards,

Saludos... Ricardo

Beautiful and impacting image, almost as much as your story about the loss of your complete portfolio and your partial recovery.
I love POV that you obtained in this scene with beautiful colors between those so special summits and the clouds below your reference point.
A special presentation, without doubts.
Greetings... Ricardo

hello Mario,
cool place you have been. Very well documented. Nice composition, great view!!!
If I have to make one remark: too bad the date/time is visual in the right down corner.

Greetings and thanks a lot for commenting my pictures. Much much appreciated!

Geert

Hi Mario

um abraço do

"Delete" is easy to fix. You can run System Suite "Easy Recovery" and get them back immediately. If you pay more and buy a professional "Easy Recovery", you can get them back all at once, no problem. If you have the lite version, it is only 50 items at a time, too long for even one gigabyte, at a time. You can use it to return pictures on camera cards too, even after erased. Before I knew this, everything I lost was gone forever. My camera was numbering all picture cards the same, so I lost pictures all the time before. I lost 60,00 gigabytes alone last year, when a power surge from men cutting marble outside my room, blew up everything plugged into my laptop. The windows cd (bought in Nepal), did not just put back my usb mouse, it completly reformated my drive befoe I could stop it, and I lost all. A program on "two cows" web site, on the internet would have gotten back 22 gigabytes, but I had no way to pay to activate the program. I was in India and Nepal, no money can be wired, I had no credit card, they did not take checks. BUT if you ever really need help I suggest you go to their website to buy a program, it was the best. Eventually I used my computer again, covering them even more, now I think it is too late. It was all my favorites of 4 years. Sometimes you can look in recent documents for something accidently deleted, and click on it, bringing it back, then keep going thru any other pictures on the slide show, till you have seen them all, this brings them back, then save them. OR buy "Goback"', if it is working you can "go back in time". Mine often does not work, (why I do not know) but I have saved thousands of pictures this way, that I accidently deleted, or when I messed up my computer with a virus. Last thing is "undo", always put it in your task bar, sometimes it is all you need to undo a mistake (some versions of windows do not have it though). I hope I wrote all this in a way to understand? This is a great picture, good luck!
