This is an African Crowned Crane from the Oakland zoo. The enclosure has just a small metal railing and a moat to keep the animals in from the viewers side. great for taking pictures.

My favorite of your shots. Crisp. I like what you chose to put in the frame - cropped or not doesn't matter. The exposure provided the small detail of at the top of the head - nice.

I saw quite a few of these birds on a trip to Africa - never got a good shot of one. Nice to see this.
