Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos)

I will allow my pelicans to rest for a few days and give you another mockingbird. This is similar to a previous post, but I think it is a little improved in details.

The photo was taken on 12/12/06 near Grapevine Lake. The mockingbird is attracted to this spot because of nearby wild holly berries.

Hello Ken,
This is a wonderful bird portrait with excellent details and lightning. I like this low POV and exposure. Composition is really good with this nice BG that let us see this so delicious “holly berry". Well done and thanks,
Claudine

Hi Ken,

What a beautiful shot of the Mocking Bird, very nice detail and wonderful natural colours, I like the Blue Sky BG a lot with the Holly Berry part of the BG (I wonder how long that lasted once the bird spotted it). Wonderful composition and a great pose too.

I agree with the others who noted the clarity and sharpness of this photo. Wonderful point of view - very cooperative birdie! :)
Artistically, you captured the regal nature of our State Bird.
(side note: The other day I was running and thought I heard a cell phone ringing. It was a mockingbird imitating our technology! Pretty amazing.)
