[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We were traveling through the States on motorbikes on the way to New Hampshire. At the hotel (I think in Stowe) this baby bird fell or was pushed out of his nest. My husband thought it was a robin, I believed it to be a blue jay. Unfortunately there were no parents around. Both bird species would have normally had a fit if we had been this close with them present. It may have also been taken by a larger bird, but proved to be too heavy and was dropped. Couldn't see a nest around either.I felt kind of bad taking its picture knowing its fate,but I did anyway. I erased my fingers on the left and cloned in grass. He was very hungry. I realize now I could have cropped the left and top of the photo.

Sad story but well seen. Don't feel bad, nothing you can do. Very good detail in the picture.

Poor guy, how sad. But of course nothing you can do, Lynn - welcome to TN with this fine first posting. Very good detail and lovely colors, and I agree with your conclusion that a subtle crop from the top - removing the white area - would make it even better. Well done.

Welcome to TN Lynn, good first post, lots of detail, minnor cloning looks OK , present crop looks fine to me.
The note is good, and your approach the right one to leave it to its propper fate hard though that may feel.Just think that something else will live because of it.

Good composition and colours and I'd leave the cropping just as it is. Sad story though.

It is inspite of the subject a good photo as regards dof, focus, and composition. I think not cropping gives it a better layout. Cropping would have put to much on the chick.
