" SPOUTING HORN" in "THE GARDEN ISLE".

Discover the beauty of the Garden Isle, Kaua'i in Hawaii where "PELE" the Fire Goddess was among the first to set foot here.

"E KOMO MAI" = Welcome.

Kaua'i has been an island apart. Lush, verdant and wet too. It has many, many rivers, streams and beautiful waterfalls.

Hence its name: " The Garden Isle".

It is also known as the Separate Kingdom. Or the Unconquerable Island.

It is the oldest of the four main islands; yet, it has the smallest population.

In the late 1700's Kamehameha, the first, swept through the chain uniting the islands under one monarch for the first time in Hawaii's history; however, Kuau'i was the only one able to withstand his forces. Hence the name of "Unconquerable".

Captain James Cook anchored the RESOLUTION & DISCOVERY on January 20, 1778 at Waimea, on Kauai'i's southwest coast.

To make the story short ...it was, eventually, annexed by the United States and pushed towards Statehood in 1959.

This unique island is also the home of THE GRAND CANYON OF THE PACIFIC.

The ancient Hawaiians sometimes have called it "Kaua'i kilohana", as it is exactly that: Superior Kaua'i. For further details Re: THE SPOUTING HORN

Hi Aires.
Very interesting view you have pictured. I like your POV and composition of the shot. Captured scene and moments of shooting are selected very good. Only some part of the sea surface and sky is OE and image a little bit soft. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Aires,
Interesting natural phenomenon, well captured.
Nice shot.

Hi Mario,
Beautiful picture from your archive. Well composed picture. Strong sun light is part of nature in the tropical area that has to live with. TFS

Hi Mario,
I am at work, so no opportunity to do a WS for a frame. But looking at the photo, I am thinking of a black frame with a little white line.
The photo looks a little soft in focus, but capturing the spouting horn is wonderful. A pitty that the sun was that bright.
TFS,
Niek

I love the sea. Nice shot on it. A litle over exposed on the left, but even so it's very beautiful.

Very pretty! The sea has energy....
