[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I hadn't seen a bald eagle in our area for some time, but in the last 2 weeks I have had 5 sightings. Finally on my way to work today I saw one in the tree by the Columbia River and stopped to take a photo. You can't get too close to these birds usually and my 300mm lens just wasn't enough to get a great photo, but I was just happy to see him and get ANY photo of him. What beautiful birds they are!

Nice shot of the eagle in its sorrounding.
Good light, too.
Andrea

That's the kind of shot I hope to get sometime. The eagle is a touch blurry but great photo otherwise.

Getting a shot of the bald eagle is always special...and so often they are just out of range for our lens. It's a neat capture. It is just a tease to keep you on your toes and looking out for him. It is what addicts wildlife photographers. : )

Yes they are not easy to get near I never get out of the car the young ones you can but not the adults only when you get some severe weather like snow look round rivers what have a good run of chum salmon

Our Eagles are just as shy , and love to play hard to get . It takes time , but the best way to get close to these fellows is time . They are the star , however , be patient . I've got some old film camera shots by staying still (once for four hours) . I like the shot . Thanks .

Hello Julie

A classic composition.I love the mountain in the background and the eagle on the high perch. This shot has lots of atmosphere to it.The bird has very good detail and colour saturation.I have been seeing a few pairs around here, which may be migrating through in the Autumn and Spring.Very exciting every time I see one.TFS

What a beautiful bird, the background is so pretty with his bright white head he certainly stands out, well done.

I agree Julie. What a privilege to see them. This is a great capture in the wild with amazing environment! Congrats!

Wonderful bird, a bald eagle, you are lucky to have such a bird in your country! And able to see it on the way to work! Marta
