Some butterflies – as do many birds – have that particular trait of displaying an underwing that is completely different from their upperwing. This is the case of the Blue morpho ( Morpho peleides) shown here. Mario (EOSF1) has also shown this in one of his last postings (here). And you can see what the upperwings look like in my last posting (here). You will undoubtedly agree with me that each of the faces of the wings are beautiful in their own, different way, the ones here being quite exquisite with their patterns, just like a painted cloth. The funny thing, however, is that nobody (albeit experts of course) can say that this butterfly is a Blue morpho just by looking at the underwings, as there is every color but blue there!

As Nitzan already wrote; the head & body are oof and the crop is too tight. The colors are very nice. Keep 'em coming! TFS!

So this is the blue butterfly Serge - amazing transformation by just turning around! And no blue showing at all on this side. Quite a wonderful shot. Well done.

Patterns on its wing are wonderful. Great colours and quality, nice composition and light. Pity about its head littly out of focus. Very good spotted and captured anyway.

Hi Serge, very nice butterfly. I feel it is a little soft in focus but hte colours and composition are very strong. Well done.

Its a beauty Serge. The patterns on the wings are so nice. The tight crop works for me and the only nit I have is the sharpness of the head. Maybe because of the monopod use? I had exactly the same problem with my butterfly I posted last week. Well done.

Very clear shot of the butterfly.Colors, sharpness and BG are wonderful.
TFS...

Beautiful colours but a little soft on focus - still plenty of details on this colourful critter. Nice tight cropping. Nice capture Serge.

Hi Serge
Very nice to have a follow-up and what a beautiful unders side too. lovely colours and patterns, TFS.

Pleasant and showy colors on that wing, with accurate perspective...very well done Serge.

Fantastic wing pattern Serge,
excellent detail, colours (love the ruby red spots), sharpness and clarity.
