[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The snow was falling today pretty good and finally I got a snapshot of the male cardinal whos girlfriend had been eating from the feeder for awhile now. Unfortunatly the feeder is pretty well protected by the tree its in on all sides except the one facing the window to our den here, I did clean off the window but had to shoot through it because it was pretty cold out to leave the window opened.

Hi Donna,
Wonderful shot and a great view captured. The red Cardinal stands out perfectly from an almost monotone surrounding. Good light management and I like your POV to portray this charming scene. Very nicely composed too. Kudos.

Hi Donna

Great shot - the cardinal stands out so well against the cold snow. Good exposure too.

We have robins (European) on our cards etc at the moment - these are much more 'showy' though.

It most certainly seems appropriate to call the cardinal a Christmas bird. I am not sure why but my guess would be that the answer is in your picture...It is the bright red against the snow backdrop. Those two colours in combination are very powerful and stick out well above all others...and in this way of observation and passing images on, it is powerful not only to you and I but to many countless more people. A great image and title..along with notes..

Hello Donna

Love the title,and yes it would make a beautiful Christmas card.I had a couple done by Walmart online for about four dollars and they did a great job.They have many different templates to choose from,just upload the image and away you go.Mine took less than a week to come in .
The cardinal is a stand out,the red is well saturated,and the pine boughs are lovely and make a wonderful natural scene.
Great job.
I wish my cardinals would be so accommodating.
