"OWL EYE".
This is dedicated to my good friend Pablo Minto, from BEAUTIFUL Norway, using the screen name of pablominto on TN.
Our TN friend Gert Paassen has detailed the "OWL EYE" to PERFECTION in her posting on this subject.
My intention is to show its birth and eventual flight into our environment. All together there are 8 images in this series. You are looking at # 7, the FIRST DAY OF THE OWL EYE in this world. I start with the eggs, then the caterpillar. In the next four it is in and or almost out of the "CHRYSALIS". # 1, 2, & 3. Before it takes off it pumps "blood" into its wings.
It is a different type of butterfly if compared to the "BLUE MORPHO" though they do look quite similar. You can see the difference in this collage.
You may enlarge any of the imports by clicking the RIGHT BOTTOM CORNER.
P.S.
"CHRYSALIS".
These are not cocoons. They are the pupal stage of a butterfly and are called CHRYSALIS. A cocoon is the silk covering that many moths spin around the outside of their pupae.
And, if you can spare 4 minutes of your time please see this LIFE CYCLE OF A BUTTERFLY, with sound; and, in my opinion, HIGHLY EDUCATIVE. |

Hello Aries. Stunning sharpness of the butterfly. I like those extra eyes in so sharp and brilliance. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni
.
What a beautiful capture you made here, Mario!
And I appreciate the dedication, it is too much...
I notice the huge fake eye and the great pattern in the wings, natural colours have been recorded...
A well composed presentation, my friend!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi dear Mario.
You managed to catch a true beauty. The butterfly is amazing as well as the picture of it. I like surroundings so much. Colours palette of all pictured objects is harmonic and nice. Details and sharpness of the photo model are great. Excellent butterfly series. My best wishes and compliments.
Yours Alexei (who is too busy this time).
