Hi Folks , todays upload of an American Avocet was taken at my favorite local pond. This one was in the company of its mate , but I did not manage a shot with the two of them. perhaps soon I will get an opportunity to photograph their off spring.

Bird is not evry colourful but you presented it with very good sharpness and DOF. I really like this little hunter :)

Great looking Avocet, the Brit version is black and white, but virtually the same "shape" I like the pictures you do, very natural and "honest" great DoF and POV...fine work!!
Hello, Art. I think this bird is remarkable in that all the other birds have turned down beaks/bills, but the avocet's curves defiantly up! I have yet to see one in the wild, but this photo is a nice visit until then. I like how you have presented it - framing is very pleasing and foreground gives depth to the scene and the bird strikes a great pose. Kind of a dull day - but you still have good color and detail!
