Hi All, Well Lucy and I ended up heading down to Yellowstone for a few days as Lucy feels a bit better. Today the weather has been off and on snow with dull skies. But we did manage some good shots, here a couple of coyotes fill their bellies from a winter killed bison. They were very wary as a bear could show up for a meal too. At West Yellowstone where we are the snow is very deep with 4' drifts around our trailer, but the forecast sounds good. Hope you are all well, now off to have a look at what I've been missing.

Way cool Rcik....Now this is nature in the raw for sure...order of the species eh? Looks like their meal was the high point of the day...unless they predict weather well..Hope you had a good trip...You should write and let us know...or if not up to it..then write and let me know:-)
Bob

Rick,

I love the title ! As nature would have it, nothing goes to waste. You've captured this moment very well. Just out of curiosity, were you guys in a car at the time this shot was taken ? When you say a bear could show up for a meal, I'd be wary as well :)
At any rate, this is a wonderful image that shows nature just as it is. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful shot.

Best Regards,

Martin

Hi Rick,
what a truly wild photo this one is and so fascinating to see,ya lucky guy.I surely hope that the weather does improve for you and Lucy as if this shot is any kind of indication of ,it would be a shame to cut your trip short. Here is hoping that Lucy gets to be 5x5 and the weather gives you many opportunities.I have nothing but praise for this shot and see nothing that really needs to be done to it other than to make full use of the new 300k main photo upload size for that added punch (workshops are still 200k max). Thanks for your version of death giving life to the living,it is a valuable addition to TN. Hi Rick

Great action shot - very good details - especially in what looks like poor light.

James

Welcome back Rick, to the two of you. This is a great "in the life" kind of shot of these coyotes. This is an incredible capture. Very good detail seen within the scene.

Thanks, John

Hello Rob,
Nice to see you back in action on TN and I hope that both you and your wife are well now.
This is a great nature-in-the-raw shot of a couple of cayotes tearing at a Buffalo carcas from a fine POV and in a pleasing composition. Though the snow is melting it looks cold.
TFS this fine image,
Ivan

Great image Rick,
You have a really nice capture of these coyotes feeding on the bison. Composed well, very sharp and the exposure is perfect, especially with all that snow.
The coyotes seem to be in very good health with their thick coats. Nice natural colours in the scene!!
