Done at Carden-Alvar – Ontario
The Carden Alvar is designated an Important Bird Area (IBA) by Birdlife International

This Common Yellowthroat was the first bird I saw when we arrived. The bird was singing and priming, very aware of my presence but too happy for the nice morning to fly away.

The shutter speed and aperture for this series of pictures is embarrassing wrong (should be around1/1200 and f: 7.1). The camera was on shutter priority from the night before and when I realize was to late – the bird was in front of me and I had to shut. The only think I did was to compensate +2/3 for the bright background that saved the pictures.

A skulking masked warbler of wet thickets, the Common Yellowthroat is far more frequently heard than seen. Its "wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty" can be heard from the Yukon to Newfoundland, and from southern Florida to southern Mexico.

You managed wonderful rich color and superb sharpness and exposure on this shot Mario in spite of the fact that you say it was all wrong. I can almost hear him singing.

Hallo Mario
What a beauty of a bird this is. You have used the light so well to show it of to its bright yellow colour and fine detail. I like the white patch of feathers on its head, as it looks like a small cap it is wearing. The flashlight caught in the eye is great and adds speciality to this already special image. The point of view and blue background are great too. Thanks for sharing, it was most enjoyable to look at.
Kind regards
Anna
