Hi Claudine,

I have never been fortunate enough to see one of these Cedar Waxwings! Gorgeous shot - even the eye sparkles through the black mask. Everything in this photo is beautiful - colors, clarity, pose, background and composition. I love the tree or bush!!

L'oiseau est un de mes préférés comme Mario aussi de Québec dira. Dit lui j'ai beaucoup fois. L'arbre apparaît comme possible boréal aussi. I often wonder at pines and now that I see, it could be any one but is very healthy as pictured!

Hi Claudine,
there is no risk in repeating yourself as every photo is like a fingerprint-unique!
I will never tire of seeing lovely photos of waxwings as they are such pretty birds as is this one is.For a critique all I can offer with regards to this shot is the use of flash didn't really help
as the eye looks off some what but apart from that all is right as rain with a sharp and clear focus and colour.Thanks,Claudine for giving us all this view. Bob

Oh yes, he is elegant Claudine. "Mr Smooth" I think. Even his eyes are glowing at you.

This is a nice shot Claudine with good sharpness and a nice simple composition. I never noticed the yellow on the tip of their tails before.

It's been a while...
You have got an image of great quality, I like so much the fine details got on the bird, the fill flash worked great there.
It's curious because all the lighting, besides produce the great details mentioned on the bird, at the same time seems to separate it from the surroundings, a little like if working in a studio, that of course it isn't.
But if I had to choose between the extra info on the plumage, and more natural surroundings, I think I would choose the same as you did.
It's so easy to understand why this is one of your favorite birds.

What a great DOF and superb reproduction of all components of the subject. First of all should say about amazing subject. It is really brilliant. Second it is great sharpness and details of the bird and tree. Colours are wonderful and damped up BG is looked very well too. Well done and all the best.

I'm always amazed at how smooth the plumage is on these beautiful birds! You show it very nicely here in a fine pose on the Spruce. I love the colours and details are nice and sharp. What a lovely background too and very well composed.

Very nice Claudine. We get a similar subspecies in Uk. We only get to see them occasionally during the winter time, feeding on some bright berry or even London Plane seedballs. Great birds. Great Picture!

Ce jaseur d'Amérique sur la branche est impressionnant. L'oiseau est bien cadré. La prise de vue permet de distingiuer les détails et les couleurs de l'oiseau. L'image est claire et nette. La luminosité rehausse la beauté des couleurs. Bonne journée.

This is an excellent shot of a beautiful little waxwing. The composition is fantastic and I think the tree and the arrangement of the needle leaved branches add to the impact of the photo. Everything stand off nicely against the neautral BG and the colours are just great.

I agree with you 100%...these have to be one of the most beautiful birds on earth....the name waxwing fitting them perfectly....the plumage looks as if they have been waxed and shined by someone ..so carefully and in a neat manner...
Fantastic catchlight and details on the bird.It is almost like a studio shot.
