I walk very often in the forest at Ste-Béatrix, St-Jean-de-Matha et at St-Côme, at les Chutes à Bull. I will explore more this fall but meanwhile, this picture is to show you the waterfall at St-Jean-de-Matha. You can see, on the stone wall, a lifesaver. Every year, young men drown themselves, diving right into the fall at that place where the current is strong. Or they dive from a bridge standing right accross the steepest fall and dive, killing their lives. A little further on the river, you can bathe and lay on big rocks taking sunshine. I really like that place, the sound of the water and the beautiful views is awesome.

I also walk in the village at St-Alphonse with my little dog and took many pictures of its flora this summer, which really surprised me. All those flowers growing in the fields of the village, it's incredible, the diversity and colours.

My favorite season is fall and to see those plants in seeds and getting ready to sleep always moves me. I shall spend a lot of time walking and taking pictures. I take so many of them that I will try to show you the best ones but sometimes I pick the most interesting instead.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoy being there. This summer, with all the rain, the current of the river was so strong and the water level was so high, it was impressive. I know it is monsoon in India and I had a small taste of what it must be like to get rain for weeks. I salute Indians on this site and wish them luck.

Thank you,

Francine

Hello Francine, what a beautiful landscape shot including waterfall and different tones of green. I am in curious that what ist the red ring on the rocks around the centre of the frame! It is very strange! TFS this beauty. Greetings from Turkey.

Yes I believe seasons are changing quite a bit this year. Last winter was long..and harsh and ended late and there are signs of fall already...this location which you show does not look anything more than serene and honestly the rocks look as though they might be fairly easy to climb around on when I get better..or if not then when I was younger:-) Very nice landscape and your words always flow like poetry!

Hi Francine.
What a cute edge of nature. I like selected POV and framing of the image. You managed to show the beauty of a water stream, impressive rocks, rich vegetation and very attractive lateral light. TFS and kind regards.
Alexei.

This looks like a wonderful place Nina..
You've captured the inherent strength & beauty of this scene nicely.
The best is good, but add interesting and you've succeeded very well :)
Thank you!

Hi Francine, wow what a place...i am glad you can be so close to nature like this! The troubled waters in the foreground are beautiful and the contrast between light and shadow is beautiful...i might have been tempted to clone out the life preserver though!
