Hi folks , I found this one early in the year , and just stumbled across it while looking for something to upload :-)
trouble I have with uploading this guy , is I am not sure what kind of beetle it is the name that I find that most seems to match this big fellow is a blister beetle or Meloidae. one thing I am thinking is that it is not the most common beetle here in Alberta I spend a fair amount of time looking for bugs and this is the only one that I have seen. according to the 'talk about wildlife' pages of weaslehead.org , there are 26 species of these elongate beetles in Alberta of which 3 are large species that sport this attractive metallic color.
Meloidae
thanks for stopping in
regards
