Hi Folks , I found this Mourning Cloak butterfly yesterday , the sunlight and shadows through the trees where a bit hard on it , but I was happy to get a photo anyways , I have not seen all that many of these this year.

Hi Art,
you have done well with this capture of the mourning cloak as the colours are true and the details are good.I have seen dozens of these butterflies this year,in the spring and now again at this time of year.They are sometimes hard to spot as they blend in with the shadows of the trees they tend to keep to.If you stand still in one place for a period of time in the woods you may even have one of them try to attack you,strange as that sounds.For a butterfly it is amazing to see one this aggressive,Art have you seen that behavior yet,it is remarkable.This butterfly species is the only one I have experienced do this.A good photo and thanks for giving us all this view.
