Took this photo of an immature Ring-billed Gull as it was cruising the shores of Lake Erie. It would fly low over the breaking waves and then dive down and pick up minnows.
I watched him do this time and time again for over an hour. It seemed to know when the timing was right, since it came up with a tiny fish on almost every dive. |

Your image leaves me wondering back. Of course I saw these many times as a child, even at times with cameras...but never thought at that time to take the picture.
A gull is a gull, UNLESS it comes enclosed with an Ohio postmark...and so even though most images are sharp and clear as yours are...this one is put in a special place in my memory banks....I really love this connection you have with me and our home state of which we are both so proud...ahhhh..had I all to do over again...I envy you!

Hi Ron,
Excellent composition, I really like it. This species of Gull is very common here, one local shopping center always has huge flocks of them sitting around, not sure why they find parking lots attractive, but they're commonly seen there.
