These palmetto trees are such fun to photograph. They have such texture and dramatic angles are quickly achieved by moving around them like a fashion photographer moves around a top model.
The shape of a palm tree does normally not fill the rectangular frame of a picture, so by shooting this from below, the leafy tree top is diminished in size and the eyes are drawn to the tree trunk.
Don't really know what I'm doing, but the results are pretty good, methinks. What thinkest thou...?
No flash, filter or tripod. Resized, not cropped nor any pp. Three palmettos. Spot the third, ha! |
