The Striated Heron is an uncommon heron that inhabits estuaries and coastal reefs through much of Australia where they prefer muddy or rocky enviornments. I caught this one stalking prey at the local harbour.

Very nice capture. This is a very familiar poise as it is ready to strike. The detail is good and so is the DOF.
