[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Camping at Lake Tinaroo. This was taken 2 days before Christmas 07. I went for a walk to see what was around and this was one of the photo's i ended up with.

The darkness wasn't too far off, and the moon was already creeping up. I could see it and it looked amazing! I started running back to get to my tripod as i hadn't bothered to take it with me on my quick walk.

This was a photo that i stopped for a quick moment to take on the run back to the tent. By the time i got back to my tripod, the moon had disappeared behind clouds and i ended up missing that photo moment. Ah well, all part of being a photographer i guess. I'll just have to learn from my mistakes.

About the lake:
Lake Tinaroo is a man-made lake in the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland. It's created by a dam in the 1950's. Before that it was cattle farm area. The tree's were left there i guess and have since drowned and died and are now homes to all sorts of wildlife in and around the lake.
Interestingly, when the damn was finished, the flooding rains came earlier than expected and buildings and dam building materials and tools are still left around near the base of the dam.

Hello Gethin! Amazing lightness, excellent colors. Beautiful shadows. Nice compoistion. Original picture. Good luck!

Hello Gethin. Pristine looking lake in a dreamy atmosphere. I like the layers of the hues in the background of the lake. The dead trees with excellent perspective make good foreground subject. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni
