I just can’t help myself, every time these guys come into the garden I have to shoot them (so to speak) I just love the colours; and they always seem so cheerful.

So apologies for yet another shot of a Rainbow Lorikeet, but they just brightened up my morning.

Hope it has the same effect on you :)

Wow, what a beautiful Lorikeet, Richard! The name 'Rainbow' suits it well.
This is a prize shot and its beauty is enhanced manifold by that lovely flower it is perched next to. The entire composition is a joy to behold.
TFS and regards.

a real Australian pic! TFS Ori

Hi Richard
Wow, he is a colourful Lorikeet and sitting on the flower brings more colour to your image. A wonderful image for the first day of spring (in your part of the world) it's the first day of Autumn here up north. Thanks for sharing a little bit of colour today.

Beautiful bird,and lovely set up.

Hi Rick,

No apologies necessary. I wouldn't mind seeing a Rainbow Lorikeet every single day. I love the pose on the very beautiful flowers - what are they? You captured him very well with his wonderful colors, cute expression on his face, and a lovely eye. Details of his plummage are superb.

Jane

Hello Richard,
The Rainbow Lorikeet is of course very colourful but its perch is just awesome here.

Rick,

I'll tell you this much... If I had birds like this come to my garden, I'd live there! That has to be quite nice to have visitors like this. Beats swarms of house sparrows... (although I still like them :) Great work, TFS,

Best Regards,

Martin

This is great Rick!
I know these Rainbow Lorikeets are common, but it's not easy to get a good shot of them as they spend their time half hidden in the flower bushes and trees.
But here you have come up trumps: the lighting, composition, pose and BG are all first class and the technical qualities great. Don't apologise to me for sharing this one: it's a beaut and TFS!
Cheers,
Ivan

Hi dear Richard ,
It is so nice.It has amazing colours with excellent BG.
A perfect shot.

Hello Rick,
Wow, this is a splendid view of the Rainbow Lorikeet up in a gorgeous flowering tree. I love the way it is watching you and the POV is brilliant with the bunch of flowers as a perch. Beautiful light and colours, great sharpness and a beautiful soft background. Well done!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hallo Richard
What a beautiful bird and excellent model for this photo. The charming bird plays the role of photo model perfectly. Expression of its face is very nice as well as the quality of the shot. I like great details on the plumage, and the spark in its reddish coloured eye. I like the clearness of the image and how natural the bird looks. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Rick. Colorful bird captured well perched on that flower. Sharp detail and excellent focus against the silenced background. Top class shot and TFS. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Rick,

Can't blame you, they're such spectacularly beautiful birds, and that's a beauty of a shot, the pink flowers work great with the colorful bird, nice composition too.

Olá Richard

Que beleza o colorido desta foto...linda e delicada composição... o pássaro que posa na flor é tão belo quanto ela...parabéns pelo trabalho!
Grande abraço,
Vera

Hi Rick
Superb presentation with wonderful detail and stunning vivid colors.

Always so beautiful, but sitting on that flower makes it look even better. I love looking at them Richard, and especially in Australia at the wild life parks... at food time...
We have some flying wild in NZ that are killing our native birds, and are now considered pests...

Hello Rick,
If we had this Lorikeet in Canada it would be a favorite subject for me also, how could it not be. Splendid image with great focus and composition as well, thanks for sharing.
Rick

Hi Rick, Superb clarity of this a favorite bird of many, including myself. The DOF effect makes this bird stand out really well. The glint in his eye makes this especially fine. TFS. Murray.

You captured wonderful colors in this shot Rick. The wonderful sharpness of the flower perch and the bird against that very soft background is very effective. The Lorikeet is wonderful but I really like the flower! It is great.
